Por una parte esto se debe al reconocimiento hacia la excepcional calidad de su trabajo. Podemos decir que es uno de los referentes del grabado a los que mejor le sienta la denominación de investigador. Sus indagaciones sobre los distintos procedimientos y técnicas, los desarrollos sumamente particulares que genera al combinar diferentes tipos de chapas en la construcción de una imagen, el modo meticuloso de ejecutar las rutinas de impresión y una capacidad inusitada para concebir variaciones según lo requiera el resultado visual que busca son marcas notables de su oficio. Por otra parte, contribuye a esa repercusión su notoria participación en el célebre Atelier 17 coordinado por Stanley William Hayter en la Ciudad de Nueva York donde pasó ocho meses trabajando. Ésta experiencia le permitió establecer contactos con otras figuras de las artes gráficas e ir consolidando sus propias maneras de producción. Asimismo su rol destacado desde 1945 en el Iowa Print Group, primero organizando su Departamento de Artes Gráficas y luego renovando los principios tradicionales de la técnica del intaglio, no sólo lo transformó en un referente de la Universidad de Iowa sino que le valió el reconocimiento de las sucesivas generaciones de artistas que pasaron por su taller durante más de cuarenta años.Item La Asociación Amigos del Arte de Rosario: salones, exposiciones e itinerarios de una institución moderna (1944-1959)(Facultad de Humanidades y Artes. Nuestro enfoque trata, apasionadamente, “[…] de penetrar cosas secretas y ocultas a base de elementos poco apreciados o inadvertidos, de detritos o “desperdicios” de nuestra observación” (Freud 1972: V, 1883; Ginzburg 1989: 141). Thomas Huxley –en un ciclo de conferencias que impartió en 1880 para difundir los descubrimientos de Darwin– lo denominó el “método de Zadig” y apelaba a la historia, la arqueología, la geología, la astronomía física y la paleontología; con posterioridad, la historia del arte tuvo una responsabilidad crucial en su aplicación y desarrollo (Ginzburg 1989: 157). El paradigma indicial, como lo denomina Ginzburg, trata “… la manera en que ciertos mínimos indicios han sido asumidos una y otra vez como elementos reveladores de fenómenos más generales: la visión del mundo de una clase social, o de un escritor, o de una sociedad entera. […] La existencia de un nexo profundo, que explica los fenómenos superficiales, debe ser recalcada en el momento mismo en que se afirma que un conocimiento directo de ese nexo no resulta posible. Si la realidad es impenetrable, existen zonas privilegiadas –pruebas, indicios– que permiten descifrarla […] Pero el propio paradigma indicial usado para elaborar formas de control social cada vez más sutil y capilar puede convertirse en un instrumento para disipar las brumas de la ideología, que oscurecen cada vez más una estructura social compleja, […]” (Ginzburg op.cit.:162-3).Item Decoración y revolución. Escuela de Bellas Artes, 2018-07) Soneira, IgnacioItem El delirio permanente(Escuela de Bellas Artes, 2012-10) Fantoni, GuillermoCuando se hace referencia a la resistencia cultural durante la última dictadura argentina, las manifestaciones que se suelen considerar son escasas y tardías (insistentemente, aparecen mencionados los recitales masivos de rock y Teatro Abierto, que comienza a mediados de 1981). En los relatos circulantes, muchas y variadas producciones quedan desdibujadas o francamente olvidadas, a pesar de que su consideración ayudaría a complejizar y revisar la noción misma de “resistencia a la dictadura” como un bloque monolítico y compacto. Se trata de experiencias que –entre otras consideraciones– permiten vislumbrar divergentes concepciones del arte y de la política, postulan otros modos de comunidad imaginables en medio del terror cotidiano, y ayudan a considerar variaciones, matices y etapas al interior del régimen de facto, en su impacto sobre la vida cotidiana y las prácticas culturales y artísticas. Este texto refiere, justamente, a uno de esos tantos capítulos pendientes: da cuenta de algunos avances e hipótesis en una investigación en curso1 sobre un muy poco estudiado colectivo de artistas, el Taller de Investigaciones Teatrales (TiT), surgido en Buenos Aires entre 1977-1982. Se consideran aquí sus vínculos con el grupo rosarino Cucaño (1979-1983) y sus proyecciones internacionales –o mejor dicho internacionalistas– en relación a Viajou Sem Passaporte (VSP) y otros núcleos de activismo artístico de la ciudad brasileña de São Paulo. Todos estos colectivos coordinaron un ambicioso (incluso desmedido) relanzamiento del Movimiento Surrealista Internacional (MSI) en 1981.Item Dos artistas y algunos recorridos: notas sobre Alfredo Guido y Nicolás Antonio de San Luis(Facultad de Humanidades y Artes. Obras de Pettoruti en Córdoba(Escuela de Bellas Artes, 2017-12) Fantoni, GuillermoEl 9 de agosto de 1926 se inauguró en el Salón Fasce de Córdoba una muestra de cuadros de Emilio Pettoruti. Fue la primera vez que realizaba una exposición en la ciudad y la primera vez que ésta albergaba una muestra de un artista de vanguardia. La exposición tomó ribetes impensados y el evento se complejizó con el paso de los días. El robo de un cuadro, la compra de otro por parte del Estado Provincial, la incansable concurrencia y las persistentes tomas de posturas en los periódicos locales son algunos de los elementos que dieron forma a este capítulo significativo de la historia de las vanguardias en Córdoba.1 Los efectos colaterales de esta exposición fueron igualmente trascendentes: los lazos y amistades cultivadas por el artista, para sí y para la modernidad como causa, o los ecos inmediatos en el espacio cultural siendo el más notorio la publicación de la revista Clarín.Item Entre lo sagrado y lo profano: fiestas populares en los Salones Nacionales de Bellas Artes, 1911-1960(Facultad de Humanidades y Artes. Escuela de Bellas Artes, 2020-12) Rondano, LucianoItem Entre los mástiles del puerto y la luz del libro: los linóleos de José Marín Torrejón(Escuela de Bellas Artes, 2010-10) Fantoni, Guillermoosé Marín Torrejón realizó su primera exposición individual en 1939, de manera bastante tardía si consideramos la intensa participación desplegada en exhibiciones colectivas y la madurez alcanzada por su obra. Según se destacaba en artículos periodísticos que anticipaban el evento, era además la primera muestra de carácter individual que se realizaba en un barrio de la ciudad. Hasta ese momento tampoco resultaba usual que se desarrollaran presentaciones colectivas más allá del radio céntrico y su habitual circuito de difusión. Precisamente, fue la Agrupación de Artistas Plásticos Refugio la que asumió esa importante iniciativa: a través de la organización de salones de “extramuros”, llevaba la producción de sus asociados a espacios más distantes, convocando a un nuevo público de vecinos, familias y obreros. Marín Torrejón era miembro del grupo y uno de los promotores más comprometidos con estos emprendimientos. El año anterior había formado parte de la Tercera Exposición de Barrio, realizada en el mismo ámbito que ahora recibía su propia muestra: la Biblioteca Popular e Infantil Mitre. Esta entidad se hallaba ubicada en una zona por entonces periférica, la sección Sexta, donde el artista residía. Motivado por aquella experiencia grupal desplegada en su barrio, pocos meses después presentó el ambicioso proyecto de un Ciclo Artístico Científico y Cultural para dirigir en esa biblioteca. 1 Incluía todo tipo de actividades plásticas y literarias, conferencias sobre temas estéticos, científicos y sociales, concursos, torneos de ajedrez, conciertos y espectáculos desarrollados en las salas o en su entorno. Desde estas actividades se proponía una oferta cultural variada y que al mismo tiempo resultara atractiva para convocar a un público más amplio que el habitual lector. La entidad se abría a su comunidad trascendiendo la tradicional función restringida al préstamo de los libros –que como señalaba el artista, muchas veces reposaban encerrados en sus estantes– y se transformaba, según expresaba en uno de sus escritos, en una “una avanzada de cultura viviente, despierta, dinámica, presente y augural”Item Entrevista a Sergio Barbieri por Lucila Bugallo(Facultad de Humanidades y Artes.
