Cuando ya pocos lo usan, el sombrero se ha convertido en un verdadero signo cero.
Significa por su propia inexistencia, un molde, como un lugar vacío. Además, el autor
abordará tres aspectos de este significado “en vacío”: retórica y fisiognómica; carnavales y
saturnales; ética y etiqueta.
