Si bien las obras de Silvina
Ocampo han sido estudiadas desde
diversas perspectivas, sus procesos de
escritura permanecen aún inexplorados.
Algunos de sus argumentos y personajes
fueron plasmados en más de una obra,
de géneros literarios distintos, haciendo
de la reescritura un proceso central de
su poética. Este artículo estudia tres de
esos casos: “Autobiografía de Irene”,
“El diario de Porfiria Bernal”, “Del
diario de Porfiria”, “El impostor” y una
versión inédita para cine. El análisis de
cada uno de los textos permite
reconstruir una instancia
deliberadamente esencial del proceso
creativo de Ocampo, que encuentra una
dimensión adicional en varios
testimonios de la autora donde expone
una suerte de poética de la
experimentación y del cruce de géneros
como fuente de vitalidad literaria. La
ambigüedad de los textos resuena en
una posición autoral que se desplaza
desde un lugar de responsabilidad en un
gesto hacia la incertidumbre.
Silvina Ocampo’s works have been studied from many different angles, though writing processes remain still unexplored. Some of her plots and characters were developed in more than one piece, in different genres, turning rewriting processes into crucial creative exercises. This article studies three cases: “Autobiografía de Irene”, “El diario de Porfiria Bernal”, “Del diario de Porfiria”; “El impostor” and an unpublished version for the big screen. Analysis of particular details in each piece, explain how rewriting processes are deliberately essential parts of Ocampo’s writing work. In addition, Ocampo’s own words on the matter reveal the writer’s early and sustained interest in experimentation with genres and the effects of these attempts over her literary works. Ambiguity within the texts has an echo on her authorial positioning, whose displacement from responsibility gestures towards uncertainty
