Abstract
Description
In the following article, we will analyze the dynamics and changes that TurkishAmerican and Turkish-European relations have undergone after the coup attempt in July 2016, based on the following axes: the West's response to the failed coup and the consequent measures taken by Erdogan; the influence of regional conflicts; the friction within NATO; and links with Europe in the context of the Syrian refugee crisis. In this sense, we hypothesize that the frustrated military uprising was a turning point in Turkey's policy, from which, Ankara's relationship with the United States and with Europe, as well as Turkish foreign policy in general, have become ever more transactional.
