| dc.description.abstract | La presente tesis aborda la conformación de redes de intelectuales latinoamericanos que actuaron, en el continente y fuera de él, de forma articulada, en un período identificado con la guerra fría cultural. La trayectoria del autor guatemalteco Miguel Ángel Asturias (1899-1974), conformó un nexo que nos permitió ir más allá de la conceptualización habitual de Guerra Fría; complejizar diferentes procesos históricos; y articular la situación de Guatemala con la coyuntura argentina en el marco latinoamericano e internacional. Además, habilitó pensar dichos procesos como condición de posibilidad para entender contextualmente las luchas por el poder, y vincular el campo histórico y el campo de la literatura, ya que su figura fue importante para el proceso histórico y también para la literatura latinoamericana —un índice de su relevancia es el Premio Nobel que recibió—. Para comprender cómo Asturias integró dichas redes, nos fue preciso considerar una periodización flexible atendiendo a tres cuestiones. Primero, su relación con la Generación del 20”; segundo, su reacción ante la intervención indirecta de Estados Unidos en Guatemala, que se desemboca en la contra-revolución de 1954, y su tránsito de diplomático a exiliado en nuestro país; y tercero, su posicionamiento respecto de las repercusiones de la Revolución Cubana, a lo largo de los años sesenta, que lo llevarían al exilio, esta vez, en Europa. | es |
| dc.description.abstract | This thesis deals with the formation of networks of Latin American intellectuals who acted, on the continent and outside of it, in an articulated way, in a period identified with the cultural cold war. The trajectory of the Guatemalan author Miguel Ángel Asturias (1899-1974), formed a link that allowed us to go beyond the usual conceptualization of the Cold War; complexify different historical processes; and articulate the situation in Guatemala with the Argentine conjuncture in the Latin American and international framework. In addition, it enabled thinking about these processes as a condition of possibility to contextually understand the struggles for power, and to link the historical field and the field of literature, since his figure was important for the historical process and also for Latin American literature —an index of his relevance is the Nobel Prize he received—. To understand how Asturias integrated these networks, we had to consider a flexible periodization attending to three questions. First, his relationship with the “Generation of 20”; second, his reaction to the indirect intervention of the United States in Guatemala, which led to the counterrevolution of 1954, and his transition from diplomat to exile in our country; and third, his position regarding the repercussions of the Cuban Revolution, throughout the sixties, which would lead him into exile, this time, in Europe. | es |
