“…Yo crecí ahí, y ahí crié coraje”. Género, clase y experiencia: la huelga de Confecciones Patagónicas (Trelew- Chubut, 1997)

| dc.description | El presente trabajo se propone analizar la huelga llevada adelante por un grupo de trabajadoras de Confecciones Patagónicas -un taller textil tercerizado de la firma MATEPA (Manufacturas Textiles Patagónicas)- entre febrero y mayo de 1997. La protesta comprendió la toma y ocupación del edificio de MATEPA en demanda del pago de sus haberes e indemnizaciones luego del cierre de la empresa. Si bien el análisis se encuentra fijado en esta huelga en particular, la misma se enmarca en el contexto más general de las relaciones sociales en la región y a nivel nacional durante la década de 1990. En este período, la conflictividad social creció teniendo lugar la confluencia de múltiples reclamos de parte de trabajadores/as de diferentes sectores contra las políticas neoliberales. Por otro lado, plantea algunos primeros interrogantes acerca de los significados que las trabajadoras atribuyeron al conflicto en función de sus experiencias de clase-género y su vinculación tanto dentro como fuera del ámbito de trabajo. En este aspecto, se propone un abordaje de la clase obrera en tanto sujeto colectivo desde la historia social, integrando asimismo el análisis acerca del rol de las relaciones de género. | es |
| dc.description | The present work analyzes the strike carried out by a group of female workers of Confecciones Patagónicas -an outsourced textile workshop of the firm MATEPA (Manufacturas Textiles Patagónicas)- between February and May of 1997. The protest included the taking over and occupation of the MATEPA´s bulding, as a means to demand the payment of their salaries and indemnities after the closing of the company. Although the analysis focuses on this particular strike, it is framed in the general context of social relations at regional and national level during the 1990s. In this period social conflictivity intensified, leading to a confluence of multiple claims from workers of different sectors against the neoliberal policies. On the other hand, this work asks some preliminary questions about the meanings that the workers attributed to the conflict based on their class-gender experiences, and their entailment within and outside the work enviroment. In this regard, we propose to address the working class as a collective subject from the perspective of social history, also integrating the analysis of the role of gender relations. | es |
