Este artículo analiza la política de asilo del Estado venezolano ante solicitudes presentadas por perseguidos y presos políticos en su Embajada de Buenos Aires durante los años de la represión estatal y violencia paraestatal en Argentina entre 1974-1983. Se apoya en el análisis de documentación diplomática del Archivo Central del Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores de Venezuela y en testimonios orales. La hipótesis central que se propone es que aunque Venezuela fue el principal destino de exiliados argentinos en América del Sur, su política de asilo diplomático y asilo territorial en relación a perseguidos en Argentina fue restrictiva por razones político-ideológicas anticomunistas y/o mediante la aplicación de lineamientos de política inmigratoria selectiva.
This article analyzes the asylum policy of the Venezuelan State before applications filed by persecuted and political prisoners at its Embassy in Buenos Aires during the years of state repression and parastatal violence in Argentina between 1974-1983. It is supported by the analysis of diplomatic documentation of the Central Archive of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela and oral testimonies. The central hypothesis that is proposed is that although Venezuela was the main destination of Argentine exiles in South America, its policy of diplomatic asylum and territorial asylum in relation to those persecuted in Argentina was restrictive for anti-communist political-ideological reasons and / or through the application of selective immigration policy guidelines.
