El artículo relata el martirio de Vibia Perpetua, una noble romana de África del Norte,
basándose en un relato que es casi seguramente el más antiguo que se conoce escrito por
mujer. Mujer educada por gracia de su padre, deja todo para convertirse en catequista del
nuevo movimiento cristiano y cae en la primera persecución estatal, la de Septimio Severo
(s.III), que ya considera al cristianismo como un asunto de Estado. Ella misma relata los
acontecimientos hasta el día anterior a su muerte.
The article recounts the martyrdom of Vibia Perpetua, a noble Roman from North Africa, based on a story that is almost certainly the oldest known written by women. This is a woman educated by grace of his father, leaving everything to become a catechist from the new Christian movement, who died during the first state persecution, that of Septimius Severus (s.III), who considers Christianity as a matter of State. She makes a report of the events until the day before his death.
