El cine de ficción se ha transformado en un medio masivo a partir del cual se divulgan determinadas interpretaciones sobre el pasado, las cuáles están sustentadas en una específica posición ideológica al respecto. Identificarlas permitirá, en nuestro caso, dar una explicación a las caracterizaciones que se hacen sobre el mundo indígena en el cine, en el marco de historias contextualizadas en la Argentina de fines del siglo XIX, etapa reconocida como de construcción del Estado Nacional. Para ello abordaremos dos películas que retratan el período: Martín Fierro (1968) de Leopoldo Torre Nilsson y Guerreros y Cautivas (1989) de Edgardo Cozarinsky.
Fiction cinema has become a mass medium from which certain interpretations of the past are disclosed which are supported in a specific ideological position on the matter. Allow to identify, in our case, give an explanation to the characterizations made about the indigenous world in film, contextualized within stories in Argentina in the late nineteenth century, a recognized stage known as the National State building. To this address two films that portray the period: Martin Fierro(1968) of Leopoldo Torre Nilsson, and Guerreros y cautivas(1989) of Edgardo Cozarinsky.
