El artículo propone un análisis comparado de Zama(2017), la cuarta película de la directora argentina Lucrecia Martel, basada en la novela homónima de Antonio Di Benedetto (1956). Se aborda el pasaje desde una narración autodiegética hacia una estética que definimos como realismo de la percepción. Se plantea el problema de la focalización narrativa y la representación de la conciencia, así como la configuración del cronotopo histórico (Asunción, siglo XVIII) en ambos textos. También se trabajan los desplazamientos de sentido en torno a algunos problemas filosóficos que atraviesan las obras, como el heroísmo absurdo, la noción de identidad, y las tensiones entre lo europeo y lo americano en el mundo colonial. Se analizan las figuras de lo infantil y lo animal, así como la reelaboración del fatalismo y de algunas de las alegorías más emblemáticas del hipotexto (el niño rubio, el mono muerto).
This article offers a comparative analysis of Zama(2017), the fourth film by the Argentiniandirector Lucrecia Martel, based on the homonymous novel by Antonio Di Benedetto (1956). We discuss the transformation of literary autodiegetic narration into an esthetic that we define as realism of perception. We also study the configuration of the historic chronotope (Asunción, 18thcentury) in both texts. We analyze the re-elaboration of philosophical problems across both narratives, such as absurd heroism, the concept of identity, and the tensions between Europe and America in the colonial world. Finally, we consider the fictional figures of children and animals, the resignification of fatalism, and the filmic use of some of the most emblematic allegories from the hypotext.
